The Women’s Affairs Technical Committee was founded in Jerusalem in 1992 as one of the technical teams formed to support the peace negotiations. In addition, it was intended to be part of the organization and infrastructure building of a future Palestinian state, to integrate gender into all preparatory work in support of the peace process, and to build state institutions in a manner that would fulfill the Declaration of Independence (1988) which affirms the principle of equality among Palestinians regardless of sex, religion or race.
The beginning of the cooperation between GCT and WATC was in the year of 2004 and continued for the following years, and hope to continue for the next years.
The cooperation aspects between GCT and WATC were in conducting training programs in different areas for its benefit and for the benefit of several Palestinian clubs, centers and charities by funding these training programs, and these training programs were as the following:
Preparation of management consultant / Part 2: it aimed to provide participants with information about the general concepts and detailed strategic and administrative planning as a function of the administrative process, and how to build comprehensive strategic and administrative plans as an important element in the process of preparing the managing consultant, it conducted in Ramallah 2007, & in Amman 2006 as a part of GCT central plan with trainer Dr. Hannah Qaqish from Jordan.
Preparation of management consultant / Part 1: it conducted in Ramallah 2006 as a part of advertised programs in the GCT central plan, and its main targets were to familiarize participants with the concept and management of job description, and provide them with the necessary skills to prepare the organizational structures, job descriptions and integrated plans.
Community participation: it implemented in 2004 in Ramallah & Hebron (twice) with trainers Mrs. Alia Al Shaar & Mrs. Berlam. Its main objectives were to teach participants how to define priorities, how to work towards social justice, and the ways of empowering individuals and communities.
Enhancement the role of women: carried out in 2004 in Ramallah, Hebron, and Gaza, with trainers Mrs. Alia Al Shaar & Mrs. Eman Shnan, its main target was to familiarize participants with the importance of the women's role in the work and as an important part in human resources.
Strategic planning: conducted in Ramallah & Hebron in 2004, the main targets were to provide participants with the general concepts of the strategic planning as a major function in the administrative process, and how to build a comprehensive strategic plan which will lead to the excellent performance of the company.
Building financial and accounting system: it conducted in 2004 for six times in Ramallah, Hebron, and Gaza (twice in each city) with trainers Mr. Imran Nasser and Mr. Ehab Hamad. The main goal was to develop and improve the participant's skills in the financial and accounting management, and how to manage projects.
Basic computer skills: carried out in 2004 in Ramallah & Hebron (twice in each city) with trainers Mr. Khaled Hamad, Mr. Yasser Al Qawasmi, and Mr. Shady Haddad. Its main objective was to provide participants with the basic principles of computer and how to use it in more efficient& effective way.
